What is Invisalign Treatment?

At Elite Orthodontics, we have committed to constantly evolving to offer the most modern services and appliances available. In pursuit of this goal, we are proud to offer Invisalign. This cutting-edge appliance uses clear aligner technology to give you the fantastic results of braces with a more discreet appearance. Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that are changed to progress your teeth through treatment to obtain your desired results.

What is the Treatment Process?

Dr. Aliu and the rest of the Elite Orthodontics team are highly skilled at creating Invisalign treatment plans that suit your orthodontic needs and expectations. To begin your treatment for this corrective appliance, we will use the iTero, a scanner that makes digital impressions of your teeth. This device takes multiple scans of your mouth and compiles them to create a 3D model of your smile that is a perfect replication. With this digital model, we can make adjustments on our monitors to show you what your smile will look like after treatment.

Once you and Dr. Aliu decide on your results, she can plan out your Invisalign treatment plan step by step. Our orthodontist plans your aligner sets from the beginning, so you progress along a charted course until you achieve your dream smile. We will use the digital model taken by the iTero to print your aligners to fit snugly over your smile. Every two weeks until the end of treatment, you’ll receive a new set of aligners that have been changed slightly to provide pressure that will further shift your teeth into place for your elite new smile.

To maximize your results, you must wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day. Invisalign trays feature compliance indicators that fade with usage. This means that the more your child wears their aligners, the lighter the mark will become. If the symbol is still visible on the Invisalign after two weeks, the aligners aren’t being worn enough, and the treatment could be prolonged.

How Do I Care for My Invisalign Aligners?

We know it often feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day, and we don’t want you to have a long maintenance routine for your appliance. With Invisalign, keeping your aligners clean is simple, fast, and only adds one step to your dental hygiene routine. When you take your appliance off to brush and floss your teeth, we recommend you use a toothbrush and warm water to clean the fronts and backs of the Invisalign.

What are the Benefits of Invisalign?

In recent years, Invisalign has grown to be a patient favorite because of its many benefits. What makes this corrective treatment stand out from other appliances is the freedom it allows its wearers. Many people have put off necessary orthodontic treatment because they are worried it will alter their lifestyle. With Invisalign, you will enjoy an easily removable appliance, so you can eat all of your favorite foods without worrying about how it will impact your appliance. Unlike traditional metal braces, there are no brackets and wires, so you don’t have to avoid hard, sticky, or chewy foods. However, it’s essential that you take your aligners out before you eat and put them back in once you’re done.

Another great benefit of this clear aligner treatment is that it’s virtually invisible. Invisalign is printed in a clear thermoplastic that blends flawlessly with your natural smile. In this treatment, no one will know you are working toward your dream smile except you. Although braces are sleeker than ever before, Invisalign is by far the most discreet treatment available. If you want to take a picture without your appliance, you can easily remove it to smile at the camera for a few moments.

You can remove your aligners with ease because the aligners are printed in an ultra-comfortable thermoplastic called SmartTrack. Industry-leading engineers designed this material to provide comfort even while your teeth are shifting due to pressure. Invisalign is printed to match the exact shape of your smile, so there is no painful rubbing or jabbing from your aligners. Patients love that they can put in this corrective treatment and forget they are even wearing their appliance.

While it’s easy to forget you’re wearing your appliance, you must remember to take out your Invisalign to perform your daily dental hygiene routine. Luckily, it’s easy to keep your teeth clean and maintain your oral health when you don’t have any brackets or wires to maneuver around. Invisalign patients love that they don’t have to change their daily routine to keep their treatment on track. One important step to add to your brushing and flossing is cleaning your aligners. You don’t want to put harmful bacteria or food acids on your freshly brushed teeth, so we suggest using warm water and a toothbrush to keep your appliance clean.
